 HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDS

        In the beginning, there was a Sitio Barrio Site, which was a part of Barangay Bay-ang. In the year 1960 it was proposed to become a barrio and it was Mr. Eugenio Caduldulan who happened to be the Teniente Del Barrio.  

          Years later, an election was made. At that time, Barrio Site was supposed to be changed into an official barangay of the municipality of Ubay and to be named as Hambabauran, and thus it was submitted to the Province for approval.  

        On August 2, 1968, Barangay Hambabauran was finally approved as one of the Barangay of the Municipality of Ubay. The name Barrio Site was replaced Barangay Hambabauran after the Province approval.  

        The name Hambabauran derived from the name of Hambabaud Trees. These Trees grew and populated the sitio before, and these trees grew on wet areas. This tree was located always nearby a body of water, thus it was found in the riverside of Hambabauran. But many years had passed when the Hambabaud trees were all cutted down until it vanished from the barangay.As a legend of the Barangay Hambabauran, the Hambabaud tree was always inculcated in the mind of the people living in the Barangay that it was the Hambabaud trees were the name of the Barangay originated from.

“Hambabauran means a place where we can find many hambabaud trees.

 Mission

Peace and order by implementing Rules and Regulations conscientiously to achieve unity among the constituents, with irrigation facilities and farm to marrket roads we intend to increase farm produce by 10% through proper implementation of good agricultural practices, to decrease malnutrition in the barangay by 80% thru backyard gardening.

Vision 

A peaceful, progressive and economically stable baranagy equipped with environment friendly facilities and maintained natural resources for ecological balance with GOD fearing and responsible constituents.
